Film series: French Film Festival
Cornell Cinema's annual French Film Festival is supported by Albertine Cinémathèque, a program of FACE Foundation and Villa Albertine, with support from the CNC / Centre National du Cinema, and SACEM / Fonds Culturel Franco-Américain.
This year's festival centers on the theme of transgressions. The film selection aims to encapsulate and explore the transformations that take place when boundaries are crossed — including boundaries that are social, cultural, geopolitical, personal, moral, and aesthetic.
The series kicked off with a special screening of Return to Seoul with filmmaker Davy Chou in-person on Thursday, February 8 and will continue in with weekly screenings in April 2024 of dynamic films from across the Francophone world.
Cosponsored by the Department of Romance Studies
