Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

A thousand years after an apocalyptic event has destroyed civilization, the remaining humans struggle to survive in an ecosystem dominated by atmospheric poisons and giant insects. When the sudden appearance of an ancient weapon draws her tribe into conflict, Princess Nausicaä, a fiercely independent young woman from the peaceful Valley of the Wind, must fight to prevent two warring nations from destroying themselves and to restore balance to their dying planet.
