After the events of Captain America: Civil War, Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) is forced to go on the run. Her isolation is cut short when an old contact from the Red Room, the organization where she trained from early childhood to become the infamous Black Widow, drags her into a massive conspiracy. Natasha is forced to confront the red in her ledger left over from her life as an assassin as she comes face-to-face with allies and enemies alike from her days as an agent of the Red Room.
Black Widow is the Marvel franchise’s second film to have women in both the director’s chair and leading role. This down-to-Earth, action-centered film that harkens back to the classic spy genre is sure to delight both long-time fans and newcomers to the Marvel scene.
