After receiving an anonymous letter about a missing 12-year-old girl, devoutly Christian Police Sergeant Neil Howie (Edward Woodward) travels by seaplane to a remote Scottish island to investigate. But the islanders welcome neither his badge nor religious devotion, for Lord Summerisle (Christopher Lee) and his devoted followers worship only the pagan gods of old.

Howie fears for the missing girl's life and follows every possible lead to find her. As the investigation progresses, however, and the townspeople begin to deny the girl’s existence, Sergeant Howie wonders if the disappearance isn’t the only thing the townspeople are covering up….

One of the most iconic British horror films of all time, Robin Hardy tackles paganism with style in the first installment of what would become The Wicker Man trilogy.

This cult classic—famously remade by Nicholas Cage in 2006—celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and has been now restored in 4K by Studiocanal at Silver Salt Restoration UK from the original 35mm negative.
