Mean Girls: Movie Night at the Big Gay Slumber Party!

Cornell Cinema is delighted to welcome new Cornell students for a special screening of Mean Girls (2004) as part of the Big Gay Slumber Party at Willard Straight Hall!

Raised in the African bush country by her zoologist parents, Cady Heron thinks she knows about “survival of the fittest.” But the law of the jungle takes on a whole new meaning when the home-schooled 15-year-old enters public high school for the first time and falls prey to the psychological warfare and unwritten social rules that teenage girls face today. 

Cady becomes instant friends with outsiders Damian and Janis — that is, until she meets the Plastics, the three most popular, beautiful girls of North Shore High School. Cady is hesitant when the Plastics immediately let Cady into their group, but Damien and Janis convince her to develop her friendship with the Plastics so they can learn their deepest, darkest secrets. But can Cady infiltrate The Plastics without becoming one herself? 

Based on the book Queen Bees and Wannabees by Rosalind Wiseman and written by Saturday Night Live’s Tina Fey, Mean Girls is a smart and sassy comedy about staying true to yourself in the cruel world of high school girls.
