The Manor of Araucaima (La mansion de Araucaima)
Based on the book of the same name by Colombian writer Álvaro Mutis, La mansion de Araucaima follows a young model who arrives at an old mansion, triggering chaos and awakening hidden desires among its residents and disrupting social norms. The film provokes a reflection on lust, repression, and the uncanny.
Continuing their multifaceted creative collaboration, the film was edited by Luis Ospina and director Carlos Mayolo appears in the role of “the Guardian.”
The screening will be introduced by Edmundo Paz-Soldan, Distinguished Professor of Arts & Sciences in Latin American Literature in the Department of Romance Studies.
