Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Among the most beloved high school films of all time, John Hughes's Ferris Bueller's Day Off centers on a charismatic slacker (Matthew Broderick), who successfully fakes an illness in order to skip school for the day. He convinces his cautious best friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) and his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) to play hooky with him and the three embark on a memorable day out in Chicago.

The three friends are forced out of their shells by adventures ranging from a (now iconic) trip to the Art Institute of Chicago and an impromptu parade to an unfortunate encounter with his father's 1961 Ferrari GT—all the while trying to outwit and avoid his suspicious school principle (Jeffrey Jones) and disgruntled sister (Jennifer Grey), both of whom are fed up with Ferris's shenanigans.
