El Norte

A person wrapped in a colorful blanket stands in front of a field of tall wooden crosses, holding an object possibly a candle or flower. The sky is overcast and the ground is uneven

A powerful and poignant drama following the journey of two indigenous Guatemalan siblings who flee political persecution and violence in their homeland. Their harrowing trek northward leads them through Mexico and ultimately to the United States, where they face new challenges as undocumented immigrants struggling to survive and build a better future. El Norte explores themes of displacement, resilience, and the human spirit amid the harsh realities of migration.
