Winner of the 1978 Academy Award for Cinematography, Days of Heaven has been acclaimed by critics as one of the most visually stunning films ever made.

Richard Gere plays Bill, a hot-headed migrant worker who goes to the Texas Panhandle in 1916 with his teenage sister Linda and his lover Abby. When the rich but fatally-ill farmer they work for takes a liking to Abby, Bill convinces her to marry the man for his money.

"Days of Heaven is legendary for having been shot almost entirely at magic time—just before sunset when the light is suffused with pink and gold... The result is one of the most ravishing looking films ever—with a soundtrack to match... It looks like a relic from a lost era—before the ‘80s—when it was still the privilege of a few directors to make art in Hollywood.” (Village Voice)
