Dancing Mothers (at Cinemapolis!)
In honor of Silent Movie Month in Ithaca, Cornell Cinema is delighted to spotlight actress Clara Bow — the original "It Girl”, who soared back into our collective consciousness after Taylor Swift named a song after the actress on her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department.
Cornell Cinema is delighted to partner with Cinemapolis and the Wharton Studio Museum to present the 1926 film Dancing Mothers on at Cinemapolis Monday, October 28, at 8pm.
Directed by Herbert Brenon, the film centers on a woman (Alice Joyce), neglected by her philandering husband, who makes a play for the man her daughter (Clara Bow) also loves.
Free admission. This screening will take place at Cinemapolis, 120 East Green St
Ithaca, NY 14850.
Cosponsored by the Wharton Studio Museum and Cinemapolis in honor of Silent Movie Month in Ithaca.
