Cornell Cinema is delighted to welcome new Cornell students for a special Orientation Week screening of The Big Lebowski (1998, directed by Joel & Ethan Coen)!

After Jeff “The Dude” Lebowski is mistaken for a curmudgeonly millionaire Jeffrey Lebowski, he and his bowling alley buddies are drawn into a wild journey that includes unforgettable characters, kidnapping, spiritual discovery, an oriental rug, and White Russians.

This hilariously twisted comedy-thriller, which stars Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, and Julianne Moore, is visually unique and entertaining world from the creative minds of the Coen brothers and has continued to inspire new generations for whom one philosophy rings true: the Dude abides.

This event is open to Cornell students only and offered in partnership with the Tatkon Center for New Students as part of Orientation Week 2023.

This film is part of our Cult Classics Series, which is curated in collaboration with the Cornell Cinema Student Advisory Board and will continue throughout the fall semester.
