Directed by horror master Wes Craven, Scream is clever and terrifying spoof of '80s slasher films that centers on a masked killer known as Ghostface, who begins murdering high school students in a suburban California town.

When the killer starts slowly stalking a teen (Neve Campbell), who is traumatized by the recent grisly murder of her mother, a group of friends must use their knowledge of horror movies to unmask the killer. Craven is happy to provide both tension and self-parody as the body count mounts, but the victims aren't always the ones you'd expect...

Craven revitalized the slasher-horror genre with this modern horror classic, which spurred a seven-film franchise, the most recent of which premiered in February of this year.
