Cornell Cinema invites new students to sample our programs for FREE, Sunday, August 19 – Friday, August 24. Cornell Cinema offers a classic movie going experience in the vintage Willard Straight Theatre and is considered one of the best campus film exhibition programs in the country, showing a wide variety of films every month, including recent hits, cult favorites, classics, world cinema and more. Cornell Cinema also hosts visiting filmmakers and live music/film events. The regular undergraduate student ticket price is $6.50 ($5.50 for grad & prof students), and even cheaper with purchase of a Six Pass for $30 / $27 for grads & prof students (good for six admissions to regularly priced events and valid for a full year). Schedule subject to change.

    The Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

    Munch on FREE popcorn, watch a slew of coming attractions trailers & cool short films, find out how you can become involved, and win door prizes (including movie passes, posters and t-shirts)!
  • Aug 20•21 The Graduate (1967) starring Dustin Hoffman
    A recent college graduate with no direction in life returns home only to find himself trapped between the seductive enticements of the older woman next-door and the love he feels for her daughter. A true film classic.
    Introduced on Aug 21 by Senior Lecturer Elliot Shapiro, who teaches the course Jews on Film: Visible and Invisible.
  • Aug 21•23 Yellow Submarine (1968) starring The Beatles
    Find your inner flower child with this pre-disco mélange of psychedelia, pop art, three chord progressions and animated versions of the Fab Four shown in a special, limited engagement, 50th anniversary restoration!
    Introduced on Aug 23 by Professor Judith Peraino (Music), who teaches a course on The Beatles.
  • Aug 22•25 Wings of Desire (1987), directed by Wim Wenders
    An angel grown tired of his abstract, weightless existence wishes to experience earthly pleasures in Wenders’ masterpiece, set in a shimmering, otherworldly Berlin. A classic of world cinema, recently restored. Regular admission prices apply on Saturday.
  • Aug 22•26 A Quiet Place (2018), directed by Jon Krasinski
    In a post-apocalyptic world, a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing. Regular admission prices apply on Sunday.
  • Aug 24•25•27 Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs (2018)
    Anderson's latest is an animated wonder set in Japan and follows a boy's odyssey in search of his lost dog. The Friday screening is sponsored by the Welcome Weekend Committee. Regular admission prices apply on Saturday.
  • Aug 24•26 Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther (2018)
    Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) springs into action when an old enemy threatens the fate of his nation and the world in this Marvel blockbuster. The Friday screening is sponsored by the Welcome Weekend Committee. Regular admission prices apply on Sunday.
