Cornell Cinema launches its fall season on Sunday, August 24 and NEW STUDENTS are invited to attend for FREE through Friday, August 29! Cornell Cinema offers a classic movie going experience in the beautiful and historic Willard Straight Theatre, and is considered one of the best campus film exhibition programs in the country, showing a wide variety of films every month, including recent hits, cult favorites, classics, world cinema and more. We also host visiting filmmakers and live music/film performances: big city events in small town Ithaca! The regular student ticket price is just $5.50 (graduate students pay $6), and even cheaper with the purchase of a Six Pass for $27 (good for six admissions to regularly priced events and valid for a full year).
Sample two great classics: silent comedian great Harold Lloyd tries to be a Big Man on Campus in The Freshman, while San Francisco detective James Stewart becomes obsessed with Kim Novak in Hitchock’s Vertigo. As for cult classics, we offer the original Godzilla. Grab an Orientation to Cornell Cinema on Monday, with FREE popcorn and door prizes. Four recent hits fill out the week: Divergent, Captain America: Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days of Future Past and animation master Hayao Miyazaki’s latest (and perhaps final) film, The Wind Rises.
