Cornell Cinema is pleased to present several selections from the Human Rights Watch Traveling Film Festival this spring, and is doing so in collaboration with the Latin American Studies Program, CU Amnesty International and Engineers for a Sustainable World. Highlights include A.D. White Professor-at-Large Lynn Hershman Leeson's new film Strange Culture, an amalgam of narrative and documentary, starring Tilda Swinton and Thomas Jay Ryan, that tells the story of University at Buffalo professor and artist Steve Kurtz, who was charged as a bio-terrorist by the FBI amid post-9/11 hysteria, and who is still awaiting trial for mail fraud; and The Unforeseen, about development and sprawl in Austin, Texas.
