Bring the kids! Each year, on Saturdays in the late fall and early spring, Cornell Cinema and the Ithaca Youth Bureau bring to town the IthaKid Film Fest, a series of children's programming offered at the low price of just $3 for adults and just $2 for kids 12 and younger. The shows start at 2 pm and all happen in the beautiful Willard Straight Theatre! Buster Keaton is a perennial children's favorite, and his high seas antics in The Navigator (his most popular film when first released!) are some of his best. Jerry Seinfeld's first project post-Seinfeld presents him as a litigious honey bee in the witty Bee Movie, while Queen Latifah provides a sassy narrative to the live action Arctic Tale, which follows the lives of an adorable polar bear cub and walrus pup. The Cornell Cinema Student Advisory Board presents an opportunity to introduce future hockey players to The Mighty Ducks, which they found very inspiring growing up. And we welcome back the High Falls Film Festival Shorts for Kids, an always-delightful and eclectic collection of international live action and animated works, selected by Ruth Cowing, programmer for the Rochester festival.
Please note: there will not be an IthaKid show on Saturday, February 2nd.
