New Students get in for FREE 8/19—8/23
Cornell Cinema is considered one of the best campus film exhibition programs in the country, and for five days in August, we encourage all new students to sample the wide variety of films we show by offering free screenings. Experience two of the greatest works of international cinema, Akira Kurosawa’s brilliant Seven Samurai and François Truffaut’s iconic story of a troubled boy, The 400 Blows. Or see Mira Nair’s lovely adaptation of The Namesake. Catch the best of Cornell Student Films on Tuesday, with a special introduction by film instructor Marilyn Rivchin. Or sit back, relax and be entertained by 300, Hot Fuzz, or the Coen Brothers’ cult classic The Big Lebowski. Films are free Sunday, August 19 through Thursday, August 23 for new students with Cornell ID. Regular prices are just $4 for students, or $35 for a 10-admission discount card, valid for one full year that’s only $3.50 a ticket! Tickets and cards can be purchased at the theatres in the evenings the Willard Straight Theatre now accepts Cornell Card! and at the Willard Straight Hall Ticket Desk, which takes credit cards and Cornell Cards, during the day.
