Gypsy herbalist Juliette de Bairacli
Levy attributes her long, productive life to the two elements
Hippocrates believed essential to existence: water and air. Born
to Turkish and Egyptian parents, Levy learned the ancient medicinal
remedies of the Gypsies and Bedouins as a young woman and has
worked since then to promote, maintain, and understand holistic
and herbal veterinary medicine. Levy's classic herbals for animals
and children urge people to defy the rules and precepts of western
medicine and live close to nature. Documentarian Tish Streeten's
inspiring film of photos, interviews, and herbal wisdom was filmed
over seven years on location in Greece, Spain, France, Portugal,
Switzerland, England and America. Directed by Tish Streeten.
