The deserts of Namibia are among the driest places on the face of the earth, yet life marches on. Last Year's Rain shows the harshness of life in this isolated but beautiful area from a variety of perspectives: a man who dreams of living in a big house with a swimming pool; a business owner who is trying to build up a tourist industry to help his tribe and country; a tribe elder who worries about the drought; and people who reminisce about the day, last year, when the rain came and fell for an entire day. This film highlights how many of us take for granted this vital resource.

Cosponsored with the Environmental Studies Program of Ithaca College.
