Internet Cat Video Festival

with Mistress of Ceremonies Leah Shafer ’94/ ’99/ ’08
admission includes a sequined cat mask!

We had SO MUCH FUN when we presented the Walker Art Center’s touring Internet Cat Video Festival last March that we’ve been gleefully anticipating the latest edition ever since! This year’s showcase features a new selection of videos curated by Will Braden, the creator of the Henri Le Chat Noir videos, so you’ll be in good hands (or should we say paws?)! The new reel will feature approximately 100 cat videos culled from nominations by the public in the categories of Comedy, Drama, Animated, Musical, Action, Vintage, and Documentary. So come prrrrr on your favorites as part of this super entertaining interactive evening that will include kitty cat trivia (and prizes!), your own favorite felines in an on-screen parade, a free sequined cat mask and more!

Asst. Prof. Leah Shafer (Media and Society, Hobart & William Smith College) has written about the popularity of cat videos on the Internet, and her “Cat Videos and the Aesthetics of the Superfurry” is forthcoming in Film Criticism. She will be joined by Bruce Kornreich, Associate Director for Education and Outreach at the Cornell Feline Health Center, for the pre-show activities.

Cosponsored with the Cornell Feline Health Center. The Internet Cat Video festival is produced and curated by the Walker Art Center.
