This Oscar-nominated documentary about the Apollo missions to the moon, compiled from thousands of hours of NASA footage, is both a "trip movie of the Koyaanisqatsi variety" and a Buster Keaton-style comedy. Spectacular views of the earth, moon, and the vastness of space (set to Brian Eno’s trancelike musical score) are juxtaposed with the less awesome spectacle of astronauts stumbling around like drunken toddlers, trying to collect moon rocks. "Cannily, Reinert combines majestic visions with odd human details, and the film, for all its splendor, has a friendly, down-home quality…a great movie experience." (The New Yorker)
