director:
Andrew Rossi
cast:
Okwui Okpokwasili, Ralph Lemon

Through text, song, dance & comedy, Okwui Okpokwasili (the daughter of Nigerian immigrants) evokes the lives of two 12 year-old Black girls in the 1980s Bronx, who deal with sexual violence at home while passing notes to each other in a private ritual. Reviewing her, the New Yorker wrote “[T]he top of my head blew off. A tour de force.” The NY Times adds, “A mesmerizing and sometimes harrowing solo piece… Okpokwasili in motion is a sight to behold.”
