René Clair

This program features two short silent films by celebrated French filmmaker René Clair. Entr’acte (1924, 22 min), made with artist Francis Picabia, is a short Surrealist masterpiece, and The Crazy Ray (Paris qui dort) (1925, 35 min) is a silent science fiction comedy about a mad scientist’s invisible ray that freezes Paris into immobility. The films will be accompanied by local musical duo Tzar (Michael Stark and Brian Wilson).
