Ithaca College professor and filmmaker Meg Jamieson presents four of her short films: Glass of Water in Kenya (6 mins, 16mm), an experimental doc about Kenya's water crisis; Small Weather (12 mins, DV), about some mysterious video footage; Bury My Gold in Earth (36 mins, 16mm on DV), an intimate documentary of cherry farming in Northern Michigan; and Who Killed Maggie? (8 min fragment, HDV). Named for the book that inspired it, Who Killed Maggie? traces the history of land tenancy, tribal rights and the privatization of resources in Ghana during the 2007 jubilee, marking the 50th anniversary of Ghana's independence. Made in collaboration with the Ada tribe in Bonikopey, this fragment is a theatrical re-enactment of the deadly conflict between the traditional salt winners of the Songor Lagoon and the foreign-owned Vacuum Salt Company.
