In one of his most endearing (and enduring) comic portraits, classic funnyman Harold Lloyd plays college freshman Harold Lamb—a naive bumpkin bent on achieving popularity at his new campus. Mishaps and mistakes plague young Harold, whose every effort for success seems to backfire, until a climactic save at a football game wins him BMOC (Big Man on Campus) status. Lloyd's freshman is marvelously fresh, funny, and a joy to watch—he stands up particularly well against the rash of imitations found in contemporary replays of his classic character. This is comedy as it's supposed to be. 35mm
