film series Orientation Week

Set in rural Britain in 1983, Son of Rambow follows two unlikely young friends as they attempt to create a sequel to the action classic Rambo: First Blood to win a video contest. Troublemaker Lee, who has been raised by his goonish older brother while his parents are on perpetual holiday, gets kicked out of class and meets Will Proudfoot, who is waiting out in the hallway for a video to finish (his widowed mother is part of a fundamentalist Christian cult and does not allow Will to view any television). After Lee realizes that naive and soft-spoken Will is an easy mark for his scheming, they begin their project together, and encounter several set-backs as they make their film. "Watching skinny-armed little Will pretend to be the spawn of Sly Stallone in a series of botched feats of derring-do is a treat, as is much of this film."
